New Single – Are My Shoes Clean?
This song came out of a simple attempt to do shoegaze. Of course, I wound up somewhere else and the outcome was more worthwhile than the intention.
It’s also a monument to pushing things through the pipeline, no matter how long it takes. The earliest demo of this song was made in the summer of 2015. I had a lot of great ideas that year and I’m still intending to release a handful of them. It’s hard to hit the right balance between releasing an imperfect, but lovable idea and leaving something in the oven to cook for another year (or two, or three…).
That’s why I’ve taken to releasing a few demos with the single release on all streaming sites. The demos aren’t on bandcamp for now, as they’re not ready to be explicitly paid for.
In the next few years, I’ll likely do some broad release of demos, ideas, loops, scraps, and abandoned songs just to clear out the pipeline. Not every old idea remains relevant or exciting. But as the years and ideas pile up, I want to release more songs just in case you fall in love with some of these concepts.
